For independent brokerages.
TrueCorner works with owners of independent brokerages to simplify operations, connect the systems they already use and put AI to work on the tasks agents and staff pay for today. You can’t outspend the national brokerages, but with the right systems you can out-broker them: more responsive, more personal and more local across every agent.
For independent brokerages in detail
Why independents feel the squeeze
The national brokerages can outspend an independent on systems, AI and lead generation, and they use that to recruit. Meanwhile most independents grew by stitching tools and processes together, so every added agent and deal makes the operation a little less efficient.
- The same deal is entered into three systems.
- Agents pay for offers, CMAs and follow-ups that software could draft.
- The recruiting pipeline lives in one leader’s phone.
- Every real decision still routes through the owner.
How an independent competes
You compete by being better at brokerage. Connected systems let a small leadership team respond faster and stay personal across every agent, and AI makes the agent’s day easier: it drafts the offer, prepares the CMA, reads the deal and drafts every follow-up from the critical dates.
Agents stop paying for work the system does, and they spend the time with clients and prospects. That is a reason to join, and a reason to stay.

Growth shouldn’t mean hiring a person for every new bottleneck. We document how the work runs, set who decides what, make one system the record for each deal, agent and dollar, and connect the rest of your tools to it. Your people handle more because they stop re-keying, chasing and reconciling.
The same work makes the brokerage worth more, and easier to run
A brokerage that depends on its owner is a high-paying job. One that runs on systems, documented processes and people who can make the call is an asset. That’s worth more if you sell, and it gives you your time and sanity back if you don’t.
When Brent sold Pinnacle, the buyer paid for what would keep producing after he walked out the door: cash flow, recurring revenue, agent retention, a business that doesn’t depend on the owner, systems that transfer, company-generated leads, and clean books and procedures. Every engagement is built toward that list, whether you plan to sell or plan to stay.
Point of Beginning, the Brokerage Scorecard, shows where your brokerage sits on the journey from job to asset: seven factors, about eight minutes. Job, Practice, Business or Asset.

From Brent’s experience
One thing I learned while building and scaling Pinnacle is that agents don’t always leave because of compensation. Often, they leave because they feel unsupported, overwhelmed, or frustrated by the systems they rely on every day.
I remember conversations with agents who were considering a move because they believed a larger brokerage could offer them better technology and operational support. Rather than trying to compete with a bigger commission split or financial incentive, I focused on showing them how our systems could make their business easier to run.
We invested in streamlining processes, improving access to information, and building technology that reduced administrative work and helped agents focus on what they do best: building relationships and serving their clients.
One of the biggest improvements we focused on was simplifying the transaction process. Agents shouldn’t have to spend valuable time chasing paperwork, tracking deadlines across multiple platforms, or wondering where a transaction stands. By creating a more centralized and organized approach to transaction management, we could reduce the administrative burden and give agents greater visibility and confidence in their business.
That became a meaningful part of our recruiting conversations. Instead of simply telling agents we offered better support, we could show them how our systems were designed to give them back time, eliminate unnecessary frustration, and let them focus on their clients. When agents can see how your brokerage makes their everyday business better, the conversation becomes much less about commission splits and much more about long-term value.
What became clear was that the value of a brokerage isn’t measured solely by what an agent earns, but also by how effectively the brokerage helps them earn it.
That experience helped shape a philosophy I still believe in today. When you build systems that genuinely support people’s success, you create something far more valuable than a financial incentive. You build trust, loyalty, and a business people want to be part of.

Questions owners ask first.
- How can an independent brokerage compete with the national brokerages?
- Not by outspending them, but by out-brokering them: being more responsive, more personal and more local across every agent. Connected systems and AI make that possible at scale, and make each agent’s day easier so they have a reason to stay.
- How do I scale my brokerage without adding staff?
- Remove the work that grows with every deal: re-keying data, chasing documents and assembling reports by hand. One system of record, connected tools, documented procedures and AI drafting with people approving let the team you have handle more.
- How can an independent brokerage simplify its operations?
- Enter each deal, agent and dollar once, in one system of record, and connect the rest of your tools to it. Then document how the work runs and who decides what, so routine calls stop reaching the owner.
- Do we have to replace the software we use now?
- No. We integrate first: let the accounting software be the accounting software and the transaction software be the transaction software, and connect them. We build something custom only when you ask for it.
